This summer I had the opportunity to work as a marketing intern at Novozymes North America as a member of regional innovation team. In that role, I worked alongside a technical intern all summer to develop new product ideas. Together we scoped out a total of 6 new commercial opportunities for which I built the supporting business cases and handled the business development activities. Identifying the value propositions, and performing opportunity analysis, required that I do a lot of secondary and primary market research. Part of that research was conducted at the 2017 Institute of Food Technologist annual conference, where I had many conversations to verify the assumptions in my business case. Overall, I was a part of more than 10 different regional innovation projects at Novozymes and have continued being a part of the team since leaving the internship role in August of 2017.
